Luzerne County Court Of Common Pleas

Case: Attorney Mastri represented a mother in a court case requesting that she obtain primary physical custody of her 12-year-old son.
Result: Primary physical custody granted to mother.


Lackawanna County Court Of Common Pleas

Case: Client was charged with three felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one felony count of firearms not to be carried without a license. If convicted on all charges, client would face a maximum penalty of more than 30 years in prison.
Result: After a jury trial, client was found not guilty on all charges.


Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation

Case: Client was denied unemployment benefits by the local office of a Fortune 500 company.
Result: Client was awarded full unemployment compensation (and paid in arrears).


Pennsylvania Magisterial Court

Case: Client was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Client faced up to 90 days in jail and/or a $300 fine.
Result: Client was found not guilty.


Lackawanna County Court Of Common Pleas

Case: Client wanted to secure legal custody of minor child before military deployment to the Middle East.
Result: Physical custody was granted; other parent will have supervised visits only.


Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation

Case: Client was accused of receiving fraudulent unemployment compensation. Client faced a mandatory payback of over $5,000 dollars together with interest and penalties as well as a prohibition from collecting unemployment compensation.
Result: Attorney Mastri proved that his client had good reason to leave employment. Unemployment compensation was reinstated, and all penalties and overpayments were dismissed.


Lackawanna County Court Of Common Pleas

Case: Client was sued by major credit card company and could have been forced to repay over $14,000 dollars of debt together with interest, costs and counsel fees.
Result: Major credit card company withdrew their suit after Attorney Mastri filed objections to their complaint.


Montour County Court Of Common Pleas

Case: Client was charged with a third DUI. If convicted, the client faced mandatory jail time and a mandatory driver’s license suspension of 12 months.
Result: After plea negotiations by Attorney Mastri, the client received probation and the driver’s license suspension was reduced from 12 months to only 60 days.


Lackawanna County

Case: Client was denied short-term disability benefits after suddenly being stricken ill with a serious medical condition.
Result: Attorney Mastri appealed the insurance company’s denial of short-term disability benefits. The insurer paid the client in full for the client’s recovery time.


Pennsylvania Unemployment Compensation

Case: The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry denied a client’s right to appeal the termination of unemployment compensation benefits because the appeal was not filed in a timely manner.
Result: Attorney Mastri proved there was an administrative error on the part of the Department of Labor & Industry, and the department restored the client’s right of appeal.
